Accessibility
Last updated: September 27, 2026
Safety information has to work for every woman, including women who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Tested the public pages with automated accessibility checks and fixed what they found.
- Text and controls meet WCAG AA colour-contrast levels.
- Form fields have labels that screen readers announce, and forms work with a keyboard.
- Images that carry information have text descriptions.
- The site is available in 13 languages, including right-to-left Arabic.
What we know is not there yet
- The interactive map is hard to use without sight. The country safety information it leads to is all available as text in the country guides.
- We have not yet had the signed-in parts of the Platform tested by people who use screen readers. We plan to.
Tell us about a barrier
If anything on the Platform is hard to use, email team@womenstravelshield.com with the page and what happened. We will reply within 5 business days and, where we can, give you the information another way in the meantime.
